AUSA 2024: Quantum-Systems targets big 2025 with UAS developments
Quantum-Systems has been upgrading its UAS family, with new versions of the Vector, Reliant and Twister drones set for release throughout 2025.
The UK Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA) is set to begin a drone trial ‘in the coming weeks’ as part of plans to evaluate and potentially field unmanned aircraft.
While the agency is preparing to release full details of the trial shortly, it is separately set to commence a 12-month ‘operational evaluation’ this month that will see a police drone team work alongside Coastguard rescue teams and the Royal National Lifeboat Institution.
One major difference distinguishes the two programmes, with the drone trial set to use large UAVs operating BVLOS, compared to the police operation being restricted to a LoS
