UDT 2016: Wasps, torpedoes and ASW

While the US Combat Terrorism Technical Support Organization (CTTSO) continues to trial three Saab Sea Wasp ROVs delivered to them earlier this year, the company confirmed that there is no follow-on requirement for further systems.

The Sea Wasp was delivered to the US Navy’s EOD Group 2, the FBI counter-IED unit and the South Carolina maritime response unit earlier this year and following initial training began a 12-month test programme with the system.

A Saab official at UDT 2016 said that although there was no follow-on, the company had received ‘a good response’ from all the agencies.
