Amidst China’s spectacular military parade in Tiananmen Square, Beijing, were three types of UAV serving in various services of the People’s Liberation Army (PLA).

The BZK-005, JWP-02 and Wing-Loong 1, had not previously appeared in a Chinese parade.

Manufactured by the Harbin Aircraft Industry Group (HAIG), the BZK-005 is a HALE platform operated by the PLA Navy (PLAN). Pushed by a three-bladed propeller, it has a cruising speed of 170km/h and maximum ceiling of 8,000m.

The payload, including an electro-optical sensor under the nose, can weigh 150kg. A SATCOM antenna is installed in the bulging head of the fuselage
