UAV Factory targets payload market
UAV Factory has launched a new division - Octopus ISR Systems - announced on 22 March. The division will offer intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance solutions such as IP datalinks, Epsilon advanced gimbals, ground control stations and tracking antennas.
Octopus ISR Systems will focus on users and manufacturers of manned and unmanned systems whose existing vehicles or aircraft operate on sea, land or air.
The new divison has launched a new Epsilon 140 dual-sensor gyro-stabilised gimbal designed for surveillance and observation. The system has 60mm infrared lenses with a night-time surveillance range of 2,000m and an automatic moving target indication function.
Konstantins Popiks, chief operating officer, UAV Factory, said: ‘After the development of our flagship system Penguin C, we realised that there was a lack of advanced imaging payloads for small UAVs that were capable of delivering well-stabilised images on high-vibration platforms.
‘As a result, we decided to take the challenge and develop a working solution ourselves, and from mid-2013, we invested in engineering efforts to see if it was possible to develop better products than those that were available on the market. Today, I am proud to announce that we have a range of micro-gimbals with outstanding stabilisation and an extensive feature set that, according to our customers, significantly exceed their expectations at the price point.’
