UAE signs for HammerHead UAS
The United Arab Emirates armed forces have signed an agreement with Abu Dhabi Autonomous Systems Investments (ADASI) for the acquisition of eight P.1HH HammerHead UAS, it was announced on 8 March.
The P.1HH HammerHead aircraft is designed and developed by Piaggio Aerospace. The UAS will be delivered equipped with electro-optical infra-red (EO/IR) cameras, radar and advanced communications systems.
The contract is worth around $343 million and also includes integrated logistic support, including training.
Carlo Logli, CEO, Piaggio Aerospace, said: ‘This important contract recognises Piaggio Aerospace’s efforts in establishing a world-class military programme and state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities that position the business for long-term sustainable success.’
