Washington eyes meeting ahead of foreign drone sales

US officials will consider policy changes in November that will allow for the sale of more missile-equipped drones to partner nations and help the country better compete with Chinese sales. 

At a 8 September briefing, the State Department's undersecretary for arms control and international security Andrea Thompson explained that her department is continuing to look at Missile Technology Control Regime guides for UAV exports. Findings, she noted, will be discussed during a November meeting.

'We've done a policy review and we're working through them to see what steps need to be taken,' Thompson told reporters.
