AUSA 2024: Quantum-Systems targets big 2025 with UAS developments
Quantum-Systems has been upgrading its UAS family, with new versions of the Vector, Reliant and Twister drones set for release throughout 2025.
TECDRON has launched a new technical assistance and fire-fighting UGV called Sentinel, the company announced on 15 May.
Sentinel is designed to assist fire-fighters and emergency responders by improving safety during operations and assisting with difficult and physically demanding tasks. It can also be used for heavy load transportation, casualty evacuation or taking measurements with thermal cameras and other sensors.
The UGV can support difficult operations including underground fires (parking, warehouses and tunnels), and situations that are too dangerous for humans to operate safely, such as fire with risks of explosion.
According to the company, three Sentinel UGVs will be used by the Parisian Fire Brigade to secure the underground works of the Grand Paris project under a contract received in March 2018.
Sentinel is the first UGV to use the new system interface specifically designed by the company for its applications. The new interface offers real-time monitoring of the UGV’s components, higher security checks and remote pre-diagnosis in case of incident. It is versatile and compatible with all kind of control systems including construction remote-control, tablet, smartphone and computer.
