Singapore Airshow: UAV plunges into the deep end
ST Aerospace demonstrated a novel flying and swimming unmanned vehicle at the Singapore Air Show.
The Unmanned Hybrid Vehicle (UHV) is capable of through-air and underwater modes of travel. This proof-of-concept project commenced three to four years ago according to an ST Aerospace representative.
The UHV is designed to fly to an area of interest and then dive into the sea to perform such missions as an underwater search and rescue, or to conduct mine detection. Its ability to rapidly move to an area of interest to conduct an underwater task is its chief advantage.
