Selex ES has teamed with Hybrid Air Vehicles (HAV) to further develop the latter’s Airlander airship concept, it has emerged.

Developed under the US Army’s Long Endurance Multi-intelligence Vehicle (LEMV) programme, the air vehicle was originally designed in collaboration with Northrop Grumman as an OPV.

HAV has since returned the air vehicle to the UK and plans to carry out a full flight test programme. In addition the company is working with Selex under a Qinetiq-led programme
