SAS 2017: Textron highlights USV expansion

Textron Systems has highlighted the expansion of US Navy interest and applications for its fourth-generation Common Unmanned Surface Vehicle (CUSV) at the Navy League Sea-Air-Space Exposition.

The CUSV has been under development in support of the US Navy's Unmanned Influence Sweep System (UISS) programme since 2014, according to Wayne Prender, Vice President of Control and Surface Systems.

He said that the design and build phase, along with initial component integration activities, was completed late last year and was followed by the start of on-water testing early this year.
