Patroller UAV in homeland security tests
Sagem has successfully operated its Patroller UAV system in homeland security testing as part of Project AIRBEAM, the company announced on 19 October.
Project AIRBEAM is a European Commission Project designed to develop a management system for large-scale crises, such as natural disasters or industrial accidents; and to validate the system through operational demonstrations. It will see several intelligence platforms including drones, aerostats and satellites used to monitor events, with information processed in real time by a coordination unit.
Patroller's advanced imaging system provides very high resolution images to identify and precisely locate threats and risks. It has also demonstrated an ability to be deployed at short notice, adding operational flexibility.
