Roboteam lets loose flying robot

Roboteam has completed the design phase of its new flight-capable UGV and several customers within the US Department of Defense (DoD) are lined up, the company has told Shephard.

The Reconnaissance and Surveillance Teamed Robot (RSTR) is a remotely piloted hexacopter that can transport and deliver Individual Robotic Intelligence System (IRIS), Roboteam’s ultra-light, throwable UGV. 

The hexacopter can drop the IRIS from up to 20ft, remaining in the air and acting as a communications repeater for the UGV, said Shahar Abuhazira, Roboteam’s CEO.
