Robonic delivers UAV launcher
Robonic has delivered its tenth Kontio MC2555LLR pneumatic launcher to the direct aerial targets unit of Airbus Defence & Space (DS), Robonic announced on 29 February.
The Kontio MC2555LLR universal launcher can launch different types of unmanned targets or tactical UAVs of various speeds and weights - up to 110kg with a 70m/s exit velocity or a 500kg payload at 37m/s. It features adjustable launching pressure and a closed pneumatic system.
The launcher is mounted on its own trailer and the complete system can be packed down into a standard ISO container for transport by land, sea or air in a C-130 airlifter.
Juha Moisio, managing director, Robonic, said: ‘The delivery of this tenth Kontio launcher to Airbus DS is an important milestone for our company. We have a long history in supporting the Airbus DS family of direct target products and systems, with deliveries starting in 2004. We work closely with Airbus DS to optimise our launchers to deliver the best possible performance for both land and sea operations.’
