Reliability issues threaten to scupper UAV civil applications, Schiebel says

Potential of UAVs in the civil sector will not be realised until the reliability of the systems is increased to be at least on par with manned aircraft, an unmanned industry expert has warned. 

An array of international efforts are underway to facilitate the integration of UAVs into national airspace, which some have predicted will lead to a boom in the economic benefits that the systems can bring to the civil market.
