Raytheon to deliver Korean Global Hawk ground segments
Raytheon has been awarded a contract to deliver ground systems in support of four Global Hawk UAS purchased by South Korea, the company announced on 30 March.
Under the contract, which is valued up to $45.7 million, awarded by Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems, Raytheon will deliver one mobile and one building-based ground segment to locations in South Korea. The contract work is expected to be completed by the middle of 2019.
The Global Hawk UAS is used to support antiterrorism, antipiracy, humanitarian assistance, disaster relief, airborne communications and information-sharing operations.
Todd Probert, vice president of mission support and modernisation, Raytheon Intelligence, Information and Services, said: 'As the original developer and producer of the Global Hawk ground station, Raytheon is providing a platform that is known globally for reliable mission success.
'Additionally, our investment of technology for this capability will secure Raytheon's ground station solution as reliable, relevant and supportable for decades to come.'
