Industry partners prepare for Eurodrone production ramp up

Four partner nations leading the Eurodrone/European RPAS programme are expected to sign off on a full development contract next year, but industry are already making production plans.

Following completion of a critical negotiation phase between the Organisation for Joint Armament Cooperation (OCCAR) and Airbus Defence and Space on a Stage 2 Eurodrone/European MALE RPAS draft development contract, industry partners will begin to prioritise a production ramp up.

Four partner nations – France, Germany, Italy and Spain – agreed on approving the latest contract on 19 November and each have now started ‘national procurement processes’ alongside industry similarly getting ready for a production ‘ramp up,’ according to Jana Rosenmann, director, UAS at Airbus Defence and Space.
