India leases pair of MQ-9B UAVs

India is already flying over the Indian Ocean two MQ-9B UAVs that are being leased from the US.

The Indian Navy (IN) has commenced operating two unarmed MQ-9B SeaGuardian MALE-class UAVs, on lease from General Atomics Aeronautical Systems (GA-ASI) on an emergency basis due to the current border standoff with China.

The Indian MoD revealed that the aircraft are operating from the naval air station INS Rajali in the state of Tamil Nadu, their mission being to perform surveillance missions over the Indian Ocean. Initial sorties have been made over the Bay of Bengal.
