Opportunity knocks for GA's drones

With the potential easing of export restrictions of technology sensitive to the US missile technology control regime and a growing demand for long-endurance UAVs, General Atomics Aeronautical Systems (GA-AIS) is eyeing a number of markets for its range of platforms.

In Asia-Pacific, ongoing requirements in a number of countries for land and maritime surveillance capabilities could see some movement in coming months. New Zealand and Australia are two such countries, with vast areas of territory and EEZs to patrol.

While Australia is seeking to procure the Triton to accompany its manned P-8 MPA, smaller solutions such as the SeaGuardian
