Northrop Grumman has signed a contract with South Korea's Defense Acquisition Program Administration (DAPA) to provide contractor logistics support (CLS) to the Republic of Korea Air Force's (ROKAF's) high-altitude UAV (HUAV) fleet.

The contract will see Northrop Grumman provide site activation in South Korea; complete training for pilots, operators and maintainers of the system; and a team of subject matter experts to provide on-site and reach-back CLS support.

South Korea is to receive a total of four Block 30 Global Hawks under an order placed in 2014, with the first two expected to arrive within the first half of 2019.

John Parker, VP, global logistics and modernisation, Northrop Grumman Technology Services, said: ‘Northrop Grumman will build on our successful support of the US Air Force’s Global Hawk and US Navy’s Triton heritage to provide high-quality sustainment support to the ROK HUAV fleet.

‘By leveraging our proven performance with the US fleet and the introduction of systems to other global operators, we offer DAPA and the ROKAF a high-quality, low-risk, responsive services package.’
