Northrop poised to support German Triton bid

Northrop Grumman has confirmed that Germany will select the US Navy's MQ-4 Triton in a move that will see it effectively replace the cancelled Euro Hawk programme.

Media reports over the past few days citing anonymous sources stated that the German defence ministry had decided on the Triton, which will be procured from the US Navy.

In May 2013 the German government pulled the plug on the $1.3 billion Euro Hawk programme that would have seen five UAVs purchased in total.
