Korean Air wins UAV contract

The Aerospace Division of Korean Air (KAL-ASD) has won a substantial contract for tactical UAVs for the Republic of Korea Army (ROKA), confirming Shephard’s report from the Seoul ADEX show last October.

The contract, worth $333.5 million, was actually signed with the Defense Acquisition Program Administration (DAPA) last year, but it was only announced in January by Korean Air. It covers production of the KUS-FT (‘FT’ represents Fixed-wing Tactical) from 2016 through to 2020.
