Jury still out on role of optionally manned Bradley replacement

While the US Army is pursuing an optionally manned capability for its next generation combat vehicle (NGCV), which missions such a vehicle could conduct is still to be determined.

As part of the NGCV, the US Army is now focusing its efforts on a Bradley fighting vehicle replacement and has taken a step back on the Robotic Combat Vehicle (RCV), although optionally manned technology is still a key element to the NGCV.

‘We're doing some experiments right now in the simulations and we're doing some modelling that we will get after that,’ said Col Andy Boston, deputy NGCV CFT director
