More traditionally operated from the Republic of Singapore Navy's (RSN) Bedok-class mine countermeasure vessels (MCMV) the K-STER mine disposal system is increasingly being integrated with unmanned systems being trialed by the RSN.

An MCMV crew can launch the 50kg K-STER three times faster than its predecessor, the mine disposal vehicle (MDV), which weighed more than 300kg.
