UK company J+S showcased a new family of low-profile miniaturised acoustic arrays at IMDEX Asia, the first time it has displayed the technology in the region.

KraitArray has a 16mm diameter and can be utilised on manned vessels and unmanned surface and underwater vessels. The latest version also has a digital rather than an analogue interface and can provide 90% of the capability of a full-size array.

‘This is the only [array] of this size in the world,’ said Nick Poplawski, business development group manager, at the Devon-based J+S. ‘Unlike previous array technology, it can comfortably attach to unmanned vehicles.’
