AUSA 2024: Quantum-Systems targets big 2025 with UAS developments
Quantum-Systems has been upgrading its UAS family, with new versions of the Vector, Reliant and Twister drones set for release throughout 2025.
The Swedish based innovation firm Imint sees market upswing and expands its executive management team with two senior business professionals. Imint originates from image processing research at Uppsala University. Following increased demand for better real time visualization from UAVs, as well as increased awareness of the benefits of performance improvements through software, Imint hopes to capture more of the UAV remote viewing market through the recent hires.
Imint has in a short time established themselves as a software innovation leader within the market for real-time video processing from unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). In order to continue on the growth path Imint has attracted and hired two senior professionals to the executive management team. Björn Berg will take on the role as director of business development, whereas Andreas Lifvendahl takes the position as sales- and marketing director.
Imint's lead product Ihvert encapsulates the latest research in motion image improvement algorithms and in a way that enables its use in real-time and in ordinary performance-constrained hand-held systems. Ihvert also adds useful features for field operations, developed in partnership with Swedish armed forces.
The market has responded very well to the Ihvert product, presumably because it offers a "weightless" solution to the constantly increasing demand for quicker, safer, and longer-range detection and identification.
Following the growing awareness of the benefits in using advanced video software, important customers and partners has lined up and are discussing business opportunities. To take advantage of this momentum, Imint is expanding their executive management team with two business professionals to aid in driving sales and market expansion.
Björn Berg, who is also a member of the Imint board, will work operatively with business development. Björn has vast executive experience from research-, growth- and innovations companies, where he has held R&D Director and CEO positions. Berg is happy to take the lead in business development, and commented on his appointment: "There is a growing awareness in addressing issues in the software domain, but I feel it is still a hardware centric industry. The flying vehicles and its sensors get the most attention. Customers are amazed when we show what our software can add in terms of video quality. We also get their full attention when we tell them that video analysis can be used to test the whole system performance".
Andreas Lifvendahl is assigned to the role as sales- and marketing director. Lifvendahl has extensive experience in international sales and sales management, primarily within the software industry. "Imint is in a very interesting position", said Lifvendahl, "and I am impressed at what have been achieved so far. It is clear that the use of UAV's is on the rise, and the main driving force behind is to increase safety through situational awareness. Clever software that can be run off standard ruggedized lap-tops or other hand held devices, multiplies both the use and effectiveness of the videos being taken from up there", he concluded.
