IDF eyes bulked-up multirotor UAVs

Traditionally small multirotor drones are growing in size and payload capacity, and the IDF may even explore the option of arming these platforms.

The size and weight of UASs used by the IDF have increased dramatically in recent years as more missions are performed by these aircraft — and now the same process can be observed in multirotor drones.

Details of the specific types of heavy multirotor drone platforms in use by the IDF are classified but sources say that some of the operational types can carry a payload weighing a few dozen kilogrammes.

Nor is much information available on the missions conducted by these aircraft, but the same sources note they are currently used mainly for logistics
