Huon Aquaculture has expanded its fleet of Saab Seaeye Falcon ROVs with the addition of two new vehicles, Saab Seaeye announced on 23 August.
The new ROVs will join Huon Aquaculture’s existing fleet of two Falcons to inspect nets, rigging and moorings at Huon’s aquaculture pens.
Huon’s salmon farming pens are positioned in areas of strong current and rough water. Designed for such strong currents and turbulent waters, the Falcon can remain steady under robust conditions while undertaking rugged tasks and manoeuvre with precision as needed.
Powered by five powerful thrusters, the ROV uses an intelligent distributed control system configured in a compact 1m x 0.5m x 0.6m versatile system that can operate at 300m and 1000m.
