ADEX 2015: Hankuk Carbon adds Panther power

Foraying into the UAV market for the first time, Hankuk Carbon has been cooperating with Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) since last year to produce a new version of the Panther VTOL UAV, which in original form features twin tiltrotors.

Development of the hybrid FE-Panther design (‘FE’ denotes Front Engine), which adds a petrol engine, is expected to finish by the end of 2015. It will be demonstrated in Israel in January 2016, and in South Korea two months later.

Thanks to its twin power sources, the aircraft with 8m wingspan can perform VTOL procedures via two electrically powered tiltrotors, and
