Jammer resistant drone designs spark search for countermeasures
The Russia-Ukraine conflict has driven another stage of evolution for drones and the counter measures to defend against them.
FlyLogix has conducted the longest beyond line-of-sight flight of a civilian UAS in the UK, the company announced on 25 July.
The flight, conducted on 17 July, saw Flylogix's Condor UAS complete an inspection of the DP3 unmanned platform on behalf of oil and gas operator Centrica. The UAS took off at Blackpool and flew an 88km round trip to the gas production platform, located in Morecambe Bay in the East Irish Sea.
FlyLogix worked with the Civil Aviation Authority, Centrica, Blackpool Airport and other air space users to ensure the safety and success of the operation.
