Farnborough 2016: Evo selected in Middle East

The Falco Evo has been selected by two countries in the Middle East, including one Arab Gulf state, both of which already operate the legacy Falco UAS.

Existing Falco vehicles can be retrofitted to the Evo configuration that adds the longer wings and tailbooms, allowing the UAS to fly to altitudes of 6,000m and an operating range of 200km. The announced selections would see new build aircraft delivered.

Leonardo officials present at Farnborough International Airshow (FIA) said that commonality would allow both Falco and the Evo to be commanded and operated from the same ground control station (GCS).
