Falcon ROV sold to Brazil

Brazilian engineering company Oceanica has ordered two SAAB Seaeye Falcon ROVs for its increasing operations with the energy company Petrobras, it was announced on 15 September. 

Both ROVs will be deployed for use in general inspection work in shallow water. The company is currently building two Shallow Dive Support Vessels, with a third planned for engineering projects.

‘The Falcon's respected reputation in Brazil was a decider for Oceanica,’ said Manoel Teixeira Lopes Filho, Oceanica’s head of ROV operations. 

The company’s range of operations will benefit from the easily manhandled Falcon, which although small, has five powerful thrusters for precise manoeuvrability
