Eurosatory: New French UAS in development
ECA Group and Delair-Tech have teamed up to develop a new tactical mini-UAS for the defence sector, it was announced on 9 June.
The DT26M long-endurance mini-UAS is designed for reconnaissance and observation. The 15kg system has a 30km range and endurance of 2.5 hours. Its gyrostabilized turret carries cameras and infrared payloads, making it possible to see humans up to 2.5km away and vehicles from up to 10km away.
The system can be deployed in less than 10 minutes to carry out missions such as overwatch for vehicle convoy and land operations. Video is transmitted in real time by a secured radio communications system.
A new ground control station (GCS) is also in development for operation of Delair-Tech UAS and ECA's IT180 rotary-wing UAS. The project includes scope for the GCS to be able to deploy ECA robots in future in order to minimise the logistical footprint when using unmanned systems within the armed forces.
Michael De Lagarde, founder of Delair-Tech, said: ‘This partnership marks a joint willingness to federate the French industrial ecosystem. It is the alliance of a solid and experienced agency and an SME who are full of agility and innovation, for the creation of a French international champion.’
