DSEI 2021: BAE Systems debuts weaponised T-650 heavy-lift UAV
In collaboration with UK manufacturer Malloy Aeronautics, BAE Systems has unveiled the T-650 heavy-lift UAV armed with the lightweight ASW Sting Ray torpedo.
The multirole, all-electric, rotary-wing aircraft, designed to support ship-to-ship, ship-to-shore cargo lifts, ASW, SAR, MCM and CAS missions offers a 30km range, top speed of 140km/h and 300kg payload capacity.
The platform has also been manufactured using an ‘advanced lightweight carbon structure’ and a large battery offering the ‘highest energy density in its class’, according to BAE Systems company literature.
