DSA 2018: Turkish robots march into Malaysia
On 18 April, Aselsan signed a cooperation agreement with Malaysian firm DefTech at the DSA 2018 exhibition in Kuala Lumpur, with the focus on robotics and UGVs.
Signalling the intent of the two parties, Aselsan and DefTech jointly exhibited a SARP-UGV at DSA. This was the first time the system, a tracked vehicle featuring a SARP RWS mounting a machine gun, has been shown outside Turkey.
The UGV can mount a 7.62mm or 12.7mm machine gun, or a 40mm automatic grenade launcher, and it can fire on the move. The tracked platform is from a Turkish partner, while the SARP is
