AUSA 2024: Quantum-Systems targets big 2025 with UAS developments
Quantum-Systems has been upgrading its UAS family, with new versions of the Vector, Reliant and Twister drones set for release throughout 2025.
DroneShield counter-UAS systems successfully protected the opening ceremony of the 30th Southeast Asian Games held in Philippine Arena, Ciudad de Victoria, Santa Maria, Bulacan, the company announced on 9 December.
According to the company, combined elements of the Presidential Security Group (PSG) and PHISGOC Games Safety & Security Counter-Drone Team from Safer PH Innovations - DroneShield’s Philippines partner - disabled seven commercial drones during the ceremony on 30 November.
Four drones simultaneously appeared along the flight path of the Presidential helicopter minutes before his arrival which prompted the PSG to deploy the DroneShield systems to prevent the drones from colliding with the rotor blades of the helicopter.
DroneShield systems deployed included RfPatrol for drone detection, and DroneNode and DroneGun Tactical for neutralisation.
