Defence Services Asia: Tech unmanned untuk menbantu ops hutan MAF COIN

Sumber industry telah mendedahkan bahawa operasi counter-insurgency (COIN) Malaysia Armed Forces (MAF) di Sabah, Malaysia Timur, akan memjadi pengaruh besar kepada keperluan system unmanned masa depan.

Pada bulan Februari 2013, 235 militan bersenjata menduduki satu kawasan di Sabah, Malaysia Timur, bagi pihak ‘Royal Security Forces of the Sultanate of Suly and North Borneo.’ Insiden tersebut dikenali sebagai kebuntuan Lahad Datu. 

Unit-unit MAF masih meneruskan operasi terhadap pemberontak di bawah sokongan East Sabah Support and Command (ESSCOM) dan kini menggunakan UAS Insitu Eagle dalam bidang operasi yang memberi liputan sehingga 20 jam setiap hari untuk perlindungan dan operasi COIN.
