DCNS demos I4 Drones mission system
DCNS has carried out a demonstration of its I4 Drones mission system coordinating the deployment of three different unmanned systems in a simulated maritime security scenario.
The I4 Drones mission system operated the DCNS D19 underwater unmanned vehicle (UUV), the Sirehna Remorina unmanned surface vessel (USV) and the ECA Group IT180 mini UAS, all deployed off the coast of Toulon.
The twenty-minute scenario saw the mission system coordinate the detection phase of a suspect vessel by the D19, its identification via the IT180, and interception and neutralisation by the Remorina.
The I4 Drones mission system was installed in an operations centre based at the DCNS Toulon-Ollioules site, where the mission's progress was transmitted in real time.
The system is designed for the end-to-end management of unmanned missions throughout mission preparation, deployment and data exploitation, recovery and mission restitution. Unmanned missions can be supervised in three environments: air, surface and underwater, and the system can be installed on a surface vessel or submarine, in addition to a land-based command centre.
