Cyberhawk has received a three-year framework contract to perform wind turbine inspections for an undisclosed renewable energy operator in the UK, the company announced on 23 January.
Under the contract, Cyberhawk will undertake wind turbine blade inspections of the operator’s network across the UK and Ireland using its unmanned aircraft.
Chris Fleming, CEO at Cyberhawk, said: ‘We continue to make great inroads in renewable energy as a result of our UAV data collection and asset management software, iHawk.
‘We are experiencing an increase of work in this sector which is highlighted by this recent framework award, and will continue to work closely with renewable energy suppliers around the globe to develop solutions which meet their needs.’
The renewables sector is a key market for Cyberhawk, both in onshore and offshore wind. The company has also secured a global framework with wind turbine manufacturer Siemens Gamesa, and has completed onshore and offshore projects throughout Europe including wind turbine blade, offshore converter and substation inspections.
