Cloud Cap Technology introduces new dual-telemetry, data-links with L3 Bandit Radio for Piccolo
Cloud Cap Technology's Piccolo Autopilot and Flight Control System now incorporates dual telemetry and data down-links, interoperable with both ROVER and OSRVT through the integration of L3 Corporation's Bandit Transceiver.
The Bandit dual-band transceiver from L3 Corporation is a small, lightweight and low-power digital transceiver that provides wide-band data link capability adaptable to a wide variety of applications.
"Implementing native support of the Bandit radio in our Piccolo Flight Control System provides much greater functionality for our users by allowing them to take advantage of its video, data routing and encryption capabilities," said Doug Johnson, Director of Marketing and Business Development for Cloud Cap. "These transceivers play perfectly with our industry standard Piccolo autopilots and TASE family of Gimbaled camera systems to deliver real-time, net ready, full-motion video for situational awareness, targeting, and other situations where eyes on target are required," he added.
Cloud Cap Technology, a division of Goodrich Corporation manufactures the Piccolo autopilots, the industry's only "open" solution now used in more UAV platforms that any other autopilot. Cloud Cap also manufactures a market leading array of high performance, low weight, gimbaled camera systems that provide EO, LWIR, SWIR, and MWIR in packages weighing only 1 - 8 lbs delivering a range of ISR capability for both manned and unmanned applications.
