Chinese V750 grows arms

China’s military UAV efforts continue to advance, with the most recent revelation surrounding an armed version of the V750 rotary-winged platform.

Photos on the Chinese internet depicted the unmanned helicopter carrying two unidentified air-to-ground missiles, one on either side of the fuselage, plus a chin-mounted EO sensor. One photo showed a munition exploding on the ground next to a target, suggesting a successful weapon release.

The camouflage-painted V750 appeared to be operated by civilian personnel, indicating it is still undergoing testing. Once fully implemented, such an armed capability would give the aircraft a ground strike capability.
