Blackjack nears IOC on US Navy decks

Insitu is gearing up for IOC of its RQ-21A Blackjack with the US Navy in the second quarter of 2018 with FOC commencing in the fourth quarter, according to the company.

The Blackjack is currently on its third deployment, this time with the 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), and the company has a further two MEUs in work ups.

The US Navy and Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) contracted Insitu for the first full-rate production lot of the RQ-21A Blackjack unmanned aircraft in January 2017.

The contract, worth $70.8 million, was a modification to exercise an option for six Lot
