Belgium looks to follow UK with SkyGuardian

Belgium looks to be following the UK in the procurement of the General Atomics (GA-ASI) MQ-9B SkyGuardian UAV, after the announcement on 19 November that the Belgian government has approved the commencement of negotiations for the aircraft.

Derived from the legacy MQ-9 platform and formally known as the Certifiable Predator B, SkyGuardian is designed to be able to operate in non-segregated, civil airspace due to detect-and-avoid capabilities. The type also has a maritime variant, named SeaGuardian.
