Utilisation of UAS could have a major impact on operations in the agriculture sector and generate increased profitability, industry experts have predicted.

The agriculture industry is becoming one of the fastest-growing commercial customers for UAS as the awareness of its benefits continues to spread, delegates at the AUVSI Unmanned Systems event heard on 14 May.

UAVs can be deployed for a variety of tasks ranging from crop distress monitoring to the aerial application of pesticides. For example, accurate prediction of yield could help agricultural business to increase its profitability, experts said.
