AUVSI: USSOCOM considers further A160T deployments

The US Special Operations Command is considering 'additional deployments' of Boeing's A160T Hummingbird rotary UAV beyond current tests in Central America, according to company officials.

Speaking at the AUVSI conference in Denver on 24 August, Boeing officials said a 45-day testing programme of the military designated YMQ-18A system, complete with FORESTER (Foliage Penetration Reconnaissance, Surveillance, Tracking and Engagement Radar) was generating a 'lot of good lessons which could apply to any future deployments' outside the continental US.
