AUVSI 2017: Unmanned aerial logistics concept unveiled

The US Army and US Marine Corps are cooperating on the development of a new unmanned aerial resupply concept. The emerging concept, currently dubbed Joint Tactical Autonomous Aerial Resupply System (JTAARS), was outlined by Army representatives during this week's AUVSI Xponential.

According to Lt Col Jeremy Gottshall, who is assigned within the office of Army's TRADOC [Training and Doctrine Command] Capabilities Manager (TCM) for Transportation at the US Army's Combined Arms Support Command (CASCOM), Ft. Lee, Virginia, JTAARS has moved 'a little past' the concept stage and into 'the early stages of writing a requirement'.
