Several years ago when the threat to soldiers in theatres was the improvised explosive device (IED), industry responded with solutions such as robotic trucks that could autonomously deliver supplies to forward operating bases.

Fast forward to the present, and as militaries across the world prepare for an unpredictable future, concepts and doctrine around the use of autonomous trucks – or unmanned ground vehicles (UGV) – is evolving.
