AUVSI 2016: LATAS furthers airspace integration
The Low Altitude Traffic and Airspace Safety (LATAS) system has completed its multi-aircraft testing, which took place over a two week period recently at Port Mansfield, Texas.
Testing was performed by Modern Technology Solutions Inc (MTSI), PrecisionHawk, and Texas A&M University, while the Department of Homeland and Security Science and Technology Directorate’s Borders and Maritime Security Division managed and funded the traffic management demonstration and integration.
Tyler Collins, VP of LATAS at PrecisionHawk, said the uniform approach in testing technologies would be beneficial for the next generation of systems, and would see drone integration more widely available
