AUVSI 2015: Common USV headed to critical design review

The Textron Systems Common Unmanned Surface Vehicle will head to the critical design review in the next six months in a bid to finalise the US Navy’s requirement for its Unmanned Influence Sweep programme.

Bill Leonard, director of unmanned surface systems, said that since winning the RfP in September 2014 the programme had since gone through customer requirement and system functions reviews. A separate preliminary design review was conducted two week ago.
