AUVSI 2014: Insitu ready for civil business

As Insitu celebrated 20 years of innovation at AUVSI, the company said it is preparing itself for an increasingly civil business. 

An uncertain outlook of the defence budget environment in addition to the withdrawal of US troops from Iraq and Afghanistan forces the UAS industry to position itself for the commercial market as well as international markets.

‘We have prepared for this for years,’ said Insitu’s VP, Ryan Hartman at AUVSI on 15 May. ‘We are already doing civil business in Alaska and Australia where we provide monitoring services.’

He added that there is still a long way to go
