AUVSI 2014: Cargo UGV project set to continue

The US Office of Naval Research (ONR) has awarded a contract to Oshkosh Defense for the continuation of a Cargo UGV project.

Under the contract, Oshkosh and the National Robotics Engineering Center will work with the ONR and the Naval Surface Warfare Center to integrate ONR-specified counter-improvised explosive device (C-IED) technologies onto Cargo UGV Medium Tactical Vehicle Replacements (MTVRs) to demonstrate force protection advantages of semi-autonomous tactical wheeled vehicles.
